LONDON FIELDS
2-BED APARTMENT RENOVATION
This 2-bed period flat on the doorstep of London Fields as our client’s first home, and was purchased with a lot of work needing to be done.
We stripped everything down to the joists and then built everything back up again, making sure to retain the period feel of the place with design decisions such as painting the floorboards, contrasting woodwork and period door hardware, while introducing fresh, mid-century modern design to create a timeless space which didn’t feel too all-brand-new.
The bedrooms were purposefully kept warm and cozy, combining deep-charcoal floors with beige and dark purple and a drop-ceiling effect with the paint, while in the bathroom and kitchen we opted for a brighter palette to get the most out of the natural light that flooded the apartment.
Bold decisions such as the beautiful pendant above the kitchen peninsula, rounded dowel handles, and curved shelf above the worktop highlight the client’s keen interest in design without overpowering the calm atmosphere throughout.
