STOKE NEWINGTON

Kitchen & bathroom redesign

Finding balance between play and work is probably the hardest part about adult life. This growing family wanted their space to feel grown up but with a playful and eclectic scheme. We designed the hallway and living / dining area, and we renovated most of the house too since it was a well-worn family home when the client bought it.

“K&L worked perfectly with London properties for young, contemporary, growing families such as ours.”

—Client

This couple had a wonderful collection of aboriginal artwork, so that was an ideal starting point to bring playful pops of rust, beige and brown into the soft furnishings.  Established & Sons’ mouth blown Filigree pendant lamps bring a fresh pop to the hallways. In the living and dining space, Ferm Living’s Rico sofa, and armchairs from Ligne Roset and &tradition lend organic shapes and bold colour to the neutral living space. The upholstered &tradition chairs soften the dark Tom Dixon dining table, with Handvark’s pendant hanging above.

“The design process was very enjoyable. We arrived at something that really does feel like our own.”

—Client

With no structural work, the client lived in and around a lot of work that went on, so it was extra important for us to keep things neat and tidy. We were always around for bigger picture questions while still delivering that day to day care that we know your homes need.

“The on-site team was superb. They were amazing. They made it almost enjoyable. It was the best money we spent.”
